Our Story
Salon owner Deanna Erway has centered her business on a philosophy of personalized service and overall wellness, which led her to select an organic color line dramatically unlike standard ammonia-based color.
“Learning to use an organic color line required a good deal of retraining and time because its premise is so different from chemical-based products,” explained Deanna, “But the benefits organic color offers are so great that it is well worth the time. My clients don’t need to worry about harsh side effects or damage to their hair – this color is safe even for those who previously could not color their hair due to allergies, asthma, cancer, or pregnancy.”
Organic Hair offers clients a comfortable, relaxed setting as well – designed purposely to contribute to Deanna’s overall focus on wellness by offering clients much needed down-time in their busy lives. Pricing for Organic Hair’s services are comparable to or many times less than those of other area salons; clients are pleasantly surprised to find they do not need to pay a premium for an organic hair color alternative.

Our Mission
Organic Hair’s current clients were once using traditional chemical color and if asked, they would say they would never go back. After 16 years of coloring hair with OWAY and O & M color, the proof is in our customers and what they have to say. Take a look at our Instagram page and hear exactly what our customers are saying. The first reaction is typically the fact that there is no smell, no burning and no itching. Next you will notice your hair just starts to look and feel better. Maybe the most important is the fact that you are no longer breathing in or absorbing ammonia and other chemicals just to get your hair done. For most women, their hair is a very important part of how they feel. When the technology exists to permanently color hair without ammonia, parabens, petrolatum, ppd and resorcinol, it seems like an obvious decision. That’s why Organic Hair began it’s mission 16 years ago and the mission will remain the same:
To bring a safer way to color hair to as many women as possible, in a clean, comfortable and caring environment where you can connect one on one with your stylist and have healthy and shiny hair without inhaling or absorbing harsh chemicals.

Hi, I'm Deanna!
I have a lot of passion for doing hair and helping women feel beautiful. It’s been very rewarding to see my clients happy with their hair and get compliments as they go about their lives. When my clients get compliments it’s just the best feeling and that’s what keeps me in this industry. If I can help women feel better about themselves than I know I’m doing something special.
You’ll notice I chose a picture of me and my amazing daughter Alexis for this page and here’s why:
Becoming a mother was the catalyst that pushed me into getting my cosmetology license and opening my own salon. I needed to include her simply because she really is the very reason I chose this path. I knew I had always wanted to do hair and run my own business. When I became a mother, I had to show her how to follow and pursue her goals and dreams. I needed to “walk the walk” not just talk the talk. I wanted her to grow up and follow her passions and what better way to teach than by doing! I enrolled in cosmetology school at age 35 (being the oldest in my class...lol). I worked in the conventional color world for one year and knew there must be a better way. I started doing my research and launched my Organic Salon in June of 2007 in Lewiston, NY. Which brings me to the here and now as I expand into the Clarence area. I want to bring the experience of non-toxic hair coloring to more women.
One more thing…
When I look back to how this all started, I have to reflect on the day I found out I was pregnant (and an unplanned pregnancy at that). The saying “we make plans and God laughs” always comes to mind. Having my daughter is the sole reason I’ve been on this journey, and I’m excited for what’s ahead and grateful to know God always has a plan. It’s up to us to believe in Him and believe in the journey. I hope to hear from you and help you experience this wonderful hair color system. I’d love to work with you and include you in my journey.
